WEEKEND SWEEP FOR THE EXPRESS: RECORD BACK AT .500.

June 1, 2008

May 31, 2008: The Express trounced St. Nick in seven innings on Saturday scoring 11 runs in the first three innings. The offensive attack was lead by Adam Beyer. Beyer hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third innig and finished the game 3 for 4 with 6 runs batted in. Aaron Knaus also added a two run homerun in the second. Brett Thompson picked up the win on the mound.

June 1, 2008: St. Nick jumped out on top early with a 6-0 lead after four complete innings. The Express bats finally woke up in the 5th by scoring four runs to cut the deficit to 6-4. Kimball then took the lead for good by adding another four in the top half of the 8th inning.

Again the offense was lead by Adam Beyer who was 2 for 6 with a key 3-run double in the 5th that sparked the Express rally. Beyer also batted in 5 runs giving him a total of 11 RBI for the weekend and a team leading 20 RBI for the season.
