The Kimball Express had a 2009 record of 21-15 and fell one win short of reaching the state tournament. The Express finished the 09’ season with a team batting average of .268. The team ERA was 4.15, 1.96 runs less per 9 innings than the 2008 season. Tom Marquardt will continue to manage the team in 2010. He has been the manager for 22 season and is 181-91 overall. The Express will have a full roster this year as everybody returns from the 09’ season. The rotation is young, but has gained good experience and confidence from last year when they were called upon on a regular basis New Additions: Justin Hill - The Express would like to welcome back Justin Hill. Justin returns to the Express after a four year layoff. Justin brings pitching experience to the Express as he will be asked to log some innings on the mound. Burke Tagney - Burke, a 2009 graduate of Kimball, will add depth at the catching position. Tagney is currently attending Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota. He is playing baseball and studying business. The Kimball Express opened the season on Sunday, April 18th. They open up Central Valley League play at Kimball on Sunday, April 25th vs. the Cold Spring Rockies. The first pitch is set for 2:00. Please come out to the ballpark and cheer for the Express as they start their new season. | |||
